Alice received the results of the investigation she’d opened on Jack in a manila envelope, two days before the wedding of Tony and Susan. Excited to see what was inside, she didn’t even wait to go inside to open it. Inside, she found a main piece of paper that listed, in bullet form, what had been discovered, and a number of papers behind it that supported the investigator’s findings.

Reading the last point, Alice’s face turned beet red, and she ran up to her apartment as quickly as she could.
