Time passed slowly for Lucy. She did not know where she was and she could not imagine anyone finding them. Essentially, they were off the grid. The only person she could count on was herself, but she had little to no faith in herself. Besides, the girl was watching her closely. One wrong move, and she would feel the burn of the acid. And who knew where she would strike next? Her arms, her back, or maybe even her face…
William arrived at Lucy’s old home, Vivian arrived moments later, and they both got out of their cars simultaneously. Vivian, seeing William and the police, put on a puzzled expression and asked him, "William, what are you doing here, and what are the police doing here? What happened? Did you do something wrong?"
William blinked. “A better quest……
