By the time William got home at night, Lucy was already in bed, but she was not asleep. She was actually talking on the phone to Anny. Lucy did not look his direction or speak to him when he entered. William spoke first, demanding, “Did you go out with Steven this morning?”
Lucy absently answered his questions while she spoke on the phone with Anny. She said, “Yes. He gave me a ride to the airport.”
William: “He gave you a ride to the airport…”
Lucy: “Yes. He gave me a ride. To pick up Lucy.”
William: “Are you sure you weren’t there for Tony? Didn’t he leave for the United States today?”
Lucy: “Alice also returned today.”
William: “Was Alice actually there today?”
William: “What do you mean?”
Lucy’s attention was finally fully diverted from her cell phone. She turned her head to look at Willia……
