“No one notices what they’re not meant to.” His tone was calm. Confident.
Arabella let herself laugh, soft and careful. “That arrogance will be your ruin.”
“And yet,” he stepped closer—just close enough she caught the faintest trace of iron, of steel, of danger. “You’re here again. Not ruined. Not undone.”.....
