Vivian drew breath, steady and sure. "I bring the records of six village guilds, eight grain merchants, and the declarations of three tax agents who have since resigned. Their testimony has been preserved."
The second councilor blinked. "Preserved where?"
"In the Hearth," she replied, with subtle pride. "The Keepers now maintain a ledger of civic concerns—ones often lost to bureaucracy."
The third councilor leaned forward. "You come not only with memory, but with proof."
Vivian offered a small, sharp smile. "Memory fades. Records remain."-----
