Lord Harroway appeared at her side not long after, dressed in darker training gear. He said nothing at first, then passed her a vial of liniment.
"You don't think I'm ready," she said, more observation than accusation.
"You're ready to win," he murmured. "But you're also ready to prove something. That's dangerous."
She rubbed the salve over her wrist, her fingers slightly trembling from the morning cold—or anticipation. "And if I prove it?"
"Then don’t smile until you're behind closed doors. And even then, make it a small one."-----
