When Voices Collide

"We have to get out," Wren said low and growly. "Right now."
Arabella paused. "If we bolt, she'll never figure out how to hold them. And if she can't hold them."
"Then she dies giving it a shot," Wren cut in fast. "But not dying in this spot."
His words landed heavier than the shaking ground. I felt it too. Like I was right on the edge of a drop. If I didn't get control of the voices, they'd burn me up from inside. If I pushed too hard too fast, they'd swallow me whole.
Arabella stared at me hard, not letting up. "Vivian. You want to just make it through. Or you want to keep going with it.".....
