The following week, Michael was called up to the principal’s office.
Unlike how it would have happened at his previous school, it was not a public summons. Instead, as he was leaving class, a teacher pulled him aside and privately instructed him to meet with Hargrave during that break.
Michael went up to the office absently curious, wondering if any particular loose end had yet to be dealt with, regarding his brothers’ k********g. His first assumption was that he was being given extra work to compensate for his missed classes.
He opened the door to find another man with Hargrave. He was younger, clearly, but he felt older. Standing straight and firm with massive shoulders beneath what looked like a military clerk uniform, he easily made Michael apprehensive.
