It wasn’t a fancy idea to get a huge table at a pizza restaurant with a buffet menu, but it was a decent enough restaurant for the event to feel really special. There was no doubt to Michael that his parents had gone to some cost to provide for that event, so he went in already feeling lucky and grateful. Happy to see a clear sign that things were okay in his family.
Michael didn’t just invite his closest friends, but also some other colleagues from school. He first considered Billy and his ever-growing isolation. Then, he thought to invite Rachel and her friends as well. Soon after, Lily suggested he invite Luis, since he was new and apparently had yet to make any meaningful friends, and Michael, yet convinced there was something between the two, or that there could be, happily obliged.
