Griffin took the seat next to Michael.
“What?” Griffin asked softly, smiling, “you’re thinking maybe Maya had them set up the seats like this?”
“Hadn’t crossed my mind, honestly,” Michael said, quite frankly. “Did she?”
“She is standing right here,” Maya said, from Griffin’s side.
It was weird to see her making a facial expression that wasn’t somehow smug, but there it was. Maya looked like a normal girl who wasn’t sure how to act. “And she’s sorry, okay? Geez.”
Griffin gave Michael a shrug and looked towards the field. Unfortunately, the rest of his crew didn’t exactly sit in a line. It was three front, three back.
Max sat behind Griffin with a scoff. “I still don’t get what the big deal is but sure, gotta protect little Mac.”
