“Dude, enough!” Michael demanded, lifting his arms and stepping in-between them.
When he did so, Michael saw that Jake looked equally awful in comparison to Griffin. His hair was all over the place, like a bushy mane. It waved, hiding one eye, depending on how it settled, and that eye was shot with veins. “Look at yourself, you look insane,” Michael added.
“You look insane!” Jake yelled and tightened his grip on the stick, holding it like a weapon. “He almost got your family killed, and you’re doing nothing! You don’t even look upset!”
“Dude, it’s complicated,” Michael argued out loud to match Jake’s volume.
“No, it’s not!” Jake yelled, facing Griffin again. “This thing goes unpunished, it just happens again. And again.”
“I’m warning you, Jake,” Griffin said slowly, bowing his head threateningl……
