Yet another sunrise did Michael witness, sitting by himself on the edge of Lake of Ozarks, Missouri.

It was a long run, even for him, and trying not to make his parents worry meant he only had about thirty minutes to rest there before having to run home.

However, that was as far as Michael had to go to get outside Maya’s range, or so he believed. She might have been faking a loss of range to deceive him, but he figured that would be unlikely. From what he had learned of her personality, she would have teased him about it after his third or fourth outing.
