POV: Luke
My heart raced as I watched Josh, pale as a sheet, standing there in shock. Slowly approaching him, I said, "Hey, bud. I need you to keep calm. Can you do that for me? I know this all seems crazy, but if you just keep calm, we can explain."
Josh, trying to sound brave, asked, "Where the hell is Danielle?" We could smell his fear, and I understood the gravity of the situation. "That's what I want to figure out," I replied calmly, attempting to diffuse the tension. But Josh, unable to cope, turned and ran.
"Ah, s**t," I muttered under my breath. "Emily, sedate him and take him back to the pack territory. Try to be gentle; we don't want him having a heart attack or anything."
Turning to Jake and Max, I added, "You two, stand by and wait for orders. And please, don'……
