"I never should have doubted you, Danielle. It was the biggest mistake of my life," Luke admitted, his voice carrying the weight of remorse. He took a step closer, as if trying to bridge the emotional gap that widened between us.
I stood there, grappling with the reality of his betrayal and the raw honesty in his words. The turmoil inside me churned, torn between the mate bond that tethered me to Tyler and the history shared with Luke. "Luke, I... I don't know how to process this," I confessed, my voice wavering with a mixture of hurt and confusion.
