Elena said with a troubled expression, “They have told me it is too dangerous to be a police officer or a doctor. If I dare do that, they would break my legs. In their opinions, it’s better to be a civil servant, so they want me to get a good education and have a fulfilling career.”
“What about you?” asked Charles, “What do you want to be?”
“Me?” Elena thought for a while and shook her head, “I’ve never thought about that.”
“Then think about it.” Charles spoke to her softly, “Don't worry about anything else, just do what you like.”
Elena nodded her head in agreement.
Janet held the chopsticks tighter when she heard what Charles said to Elena.
