CHAPTER 109
RAINA’S POV
At the clearing that Gaius had led us to, a small, dilapidated hut whose wooden walls had been besmirched by time and the harsh weathers over the years, stood crookedly at a corner. It carried an eerie air about it that made the thin hairs on my skin hackle stiffly. I glanced at Gaius, he was staring ahead with an expressionless look in his eyes, his horse came to a halt. We all stopped and waited for a word or even a command from Gaius, but he was silent.
“Gaius,” I called softly, noticing the awkward stares that were going around behind us from the others. “What’s going on?” I queried.
“Don’t talk now, Raina,” He replied in a hoarse undertone. “She knows we are here, she’s lurking around, assaying each one of us. I am waiting for her signal.”
