RAINA’S POV

A sixteen-year-old Lycan could commit murder.

My mind was like a two-sided coin as I sat down on the cold, dirty floor of the attic. I couldn’t stop staring at the black book. My mind kept on placing Declan at the murder scene, I tried to imagine his face on that body of the attacker I had seen in my dream…or rather, nightmare.

I took deep breaths, trying to assure myself that this wasn’t enough to convict him in my mind. I needed more proof, where was he that night? How was I supposed to find that out? It seemed impossible at this point. He wouldn’t tell me and I knew it would be absolutely ridiculous to just spring out of nowhere and ask,

“Where were you on the night of October the second, thirteen years ago?”
