CHAPTER 108

RAINA’S POV

The night thinned out and from the East, we could see the darkness effacing out of the sky at the sight of the orange glow of the rising sun. I rested my back on the huge roots of a massive tree. We had ridden our stolen horses for about two hours until Gaius was sure we were far enough to get a good rest.

I averted my gaze from the sky and my eyes fell on the rest of them, they were all staring at me in awe, except Gaius who sat by a little fire that charred lifelessly. The fire he lit hadn’t been big enough to keep everyone warm and when I asked him why we didn’t just add more wood to it, he replied;

“A bigger fire would raise an alarm that we are here. We are in rogues’ territory, we can get cornered instantly by those ruthless thieves if we spring up even the slight……
