Theodore was anxious as he waits at the edge of the staircase. The heat is unbearable and it does not help him to calm his nerves. It only made him look haggard and sweat all over. This would not be the first time that he and Amelia will go out. They are always together for the past four days and unlike before, Amelia is now easier to be with. She smiles, responsive, agreeable, all in all. But sometimes, she spaces out—staring blankly at the horizon or the scenery, occupied with her thoughts.
Every day he is learning more and more about what Amelia truly is. The basics he already knew like that of the confinement she had since she was young, the hideous things she has to face after she was shown for the first time—the disappearance of Helena Umerez, that is, and the predatory Society center……
