Amelia and Amanda settled on one of the laid blankets near the river with their drinks on hand. After Lord Ulysses saw her looking at him, he actually vanished from her sight. If she has not been wise, she may have been confused as to why he is not socializing with the others, considering that he is a son of a Duke.
She glanced at Amanda. She understood it now.
“Miss Amelia.”
Her eyes snapped to Clara standing awkwardly on her left. “Miss Clara,” she acknowledged.
“May I sit with you?” Clara asked, cheeks reddening from the heat and the embarrassment her bravery of approach has made.
“Certainly.” Amanda was the one who answered.
Clara immediately seated beside her, sighing. “Sir Lance is not yet here and my father is currently occupied so I don’t know where else to go.”
