Madison stared out the window then back, to him. Her gaze met his then she looked away. “My father spent his life hunting for an artifact."
“Like a Holy Grail?"
“Same idea. Supposedly this item held mystical powers. Whoever has it can control things around them."
“What did your father want to control?"
She snorted. “Everything, but mainly events in the Middle East. He thought if he possessed this grail he could bring about world peace."
He started the car. “Sounds altruistic."
She shook her head. “It wasn't. He also wanted to have control of the oil in the Mideast."
“So how does this factor into these men chasing you and your husband sending you something?"
“Charlie became infatuated with the idea. When my father died, he took up the search."
“You think that's what he sent you?"
“I don't believe it ……
