That night Jessica was up until almost the morning packing her and Evan's things. She wanted to get most of the packing complete while her mother was still asleep. She still did not know what she was going to tell her, but Jessica decided to take some of the boxes over, so it made the whole thing more inconspicuous. She decided to leave Evan at home for now.
When Jessica opened the front door, she noticed Roger was already up and showered. He was sitting on the sofa with a cup of steaming coffee and his tablet in his hand.
He glanced up briefly when Jessica walked in, lugging the boxes behind her. He regarded her with his cold eyes before speaking.
"You can set the boxes down here. I will ask someone to take them upstairs."
Jessica simply nodd……
