Jessica's face turned pale and ashen. How did he know Evan? Why was he asking? Did he know Evan was his…son?
Jessica swallowed and looked down at the floor. She tried to control her trembling. Everything was turning into one big mess.
"Um, who?" Jessica spoke up masking her hesitancy.
Roger raised his brows. "Evan."
"Evan who?" Jessica replied now more confident in her answer. Maybe Roger would drop it.
"I heard you talking about Evan downstairs. Who is he?"
Jessica sighed, of course that was wishful thinking. Roger never dropped anything. Should she tell him the truth? She could, she did not have to tell him everything, only what he asked, and she would not be lying.
"Oh! Evan! Yes…Um…Evan is my son…" Jessica murmured lightly hoping he did not hear.
