Roger frowned deeply yet his eyes remained expressionless. Jessica's words were confusing to him, yet they made sense from her actions. But how could she care for him? He had made her life a living hell ever since he bought this hotel and came to know she worked here.
"Jessica, how can you care for me?" Roger asked in an annoyed and confused tone. An enigma he could not figure out, Jessica Brown was driving him crazy.
Jessica looked down at the floor and sighed. There was no point in telling him anything. Despite her feeling the way she was, Jessica knew that it could never be possible between them and seeing Ruth reaffirmed that fact. She knew it in her heart but she still spoke up, which was stupid of her, Jessica thought to herself.
