Jessica swallowed and gazed deep into his eyes seeing the anger hidden underneath his. He was right. She was stupid to think this was something more!
She lowered her head apologetically. Her voice was very low. "Yes, I know, I didn't forget."
Her sudden calm and obedience made Roger even more agitated. He returned to his seat and ordered coldly. "You can go now!"
"I…" Jessica was speechless. She still wanted to say something. Did he not just promise to let her hide in his office for a while?
