Darwin’s POV

I could see the terrified look in her eyes the moment she saw us in her room. She acted as if she had seen a beast, a monster, or even something worse. Throughout my life, no one has ever looked at me with such terror and fear in their eyes. It felt like she had seen death itself. And what was she saying about us wanting to kill her? Why would she think we would want to kill her? I don’t blame her for thinking that we killed her mother because we had always threatened to do it, but her? We have never told her we would kill her, we never gave her a reason to think we wanted her dead.
