When everyone arrived at the bar, they were surprised. They had expected something posh, but this place operated out of a side door in the middle of a dark alley. Anna looked at the door and asked if the place was even safe. Dinah smiled and said, “Don’t worry. Anywhere I go is absolutely safe.”
Anna still looked anxious though, so Julie pulled her aside and asked her what was wrong. Anna just shook her head and said, “I can’t explain it, but I have a bad feeling about this place.”
“Just give it a try,” Julie said. “If you still don’t like it, we can leave, but I don’t think Fannie would have suggested this place if it wasn’t safe.”
Dinah entered first. Julie and Anna followed directly behind her.
From what they could tell, the bar had been reno……
