Brooke woke early the next morning. She didn't have to be at work and she decided to take Paige's advice seriously. What did she have to lose? The dating app wasn't netting her quality men. She might as well pursue Penn.
A bleary-eyed Paige shuffled out of the bedroom. “What are you doing?"
She grated cheese. “Taking your advice."
Paige blinked a few times, but Brooke knew her roommate wasn't fully awake yet.
“Which was that and I'm not sure I can have this discussion before coffee."
Brooke handed Paige a mug of the black liquid. “Here."
She sipped holding the mug with both hands. “Okay. I can think now."
Brooke had gone back to putting together the food in a baking dish. “I'm making some food for Penn."
Paige smiled. “So you've given into his charm."
She wasn't sure that he'd been charming her at ……
