Dennis' announcement took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting that Ink's bond with Ina would work this fast. I wish I knew about it before, we could have got him back so much sooner. But the most important thing is that he's here now.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and followed Dennis back to Ink's room. What should I tell him anyway?! 'Glad my stupid ideas didn't kill you, after all' - that would be some icebreaker.
Both me and Dennis entered the room where soft whispers and giggles were heard. And then I saw them. Ink was still lying but with his upper body lifted slightly in his hospital bed and Ina sitting next to him smiling and blushing under his gaze. He was still hooked to too many tubes to pass for a healthy man, but at least the ones in his throat and nose were gone. They looked ……
