Elena's Pov
The atmosphere was thick with tension as we stood in the small room where the high priestess had been laid to rest. She was okay but clearly in pain. I had not expected to see such a modern bed in a traditional home. Declan, Mulan, and I waited with bated breath as she slowly opened her eyes. I couldn’t help but wonder what Declan ordered Mia and the rest of his warriors to do, seeing as they were not here. Her face, though still pale, held an expression of determination. I felt guilty for what I had done, but I still could not explain how it had happened. A lot of things about me were still a mystery even to myself.
