After lunch the Raven reminded Wolf that he had school work to do. There would be no break just because of his adventure, but Wolf knew that already. Being several days behind, he had been assigned extra homework. It included more math than he could possibly do, and he had to write a long paper on his recent adventure.
It would be a long night before Wolf finished up with his homework. He fell asleep face down on the table and woke up after lights out sweating, sore, and weak. Shadow licked his face, but he didn't have the energy to argue with him. The next time he awoke, he was being carried by Wart, Harold, and George to the nurse's tent.
Wolf spent the next day alternating between fevers and chills barely aware of people coming and going. He remembered seeing the Wolverine and the Raven. ……
