Astredian looked down at Elise, his guts twisting into knots. She was beautiful, curled up in his bed - correction, their bed - her sleepy green eyes drooping gently after a long day. It was the perfect moment to ask her, wasn’t it? She wouldn’t care if he had a ring yet or not. He just needed to get the words out.
...Unfortunately, he found himself tongue tied. It was like he’d critically failed a charisma check; he opened his mouth, and no sound came out at all. Elise blinked a few times into the silence, and just as his eyes started to grow panicked, she leaned up to kiss his nose.
“It’s ok, Tre. Just tell me tomorrow.” she said softly, before yawning and snuggling back down against her pillows.
