"Your mate doesn't like me at all," Ricky said as soon as Emrys left the bar.

I looked away from the door I watched Emrys go through, and gave Ricky a flat look.

"Gee, wonder why," I replied.

"Oh, so he is your mate," Ricky said teasingly.

I rolled my eyes.

"Little Lenny is growing up," Ricky said as he wrapped his arms around Elis. "And to think she never thought she'd get a mate."

I glared at him, warning him with my eyes.

"Ricky, you're going to get your a.ss kicked," Elis warned him.

I gave Ricky a smug look.

"I can take a few hits," Ricky replied with a shrug.

"You gonna put me through that pain?" Elis asked matter-of-factly.
