Krill blinked. "Leaving with whom?"
Molly bit her lip and whispered, "Kateesha. And the others. Abigale and Elizabeth, they want to strike back at those who destroyed our home, our coven."
Krill blinked stupidly. "Are the culprits here? At the citadel?"
"Of course," Molly whispered fiercely. When he continued to look blank she added, "It was the Executioners. Didn't you know?"
Executioners? But why would they-
"You remember Ivan? Quarrelsome, conceited. And you know Abigale loved him madly. He left before you did, as you'll recall, but he found us again four months ago. Not long after, Executioners came, hunting him. He'd slaughtered a settlement out west, fifty-six humans they said. They demanded we hand him over. Abigale refused, and there was a fight."
"They killed him?" Krill guessed.
"No, he……
