Vana Line felt embarrassed when Aurora Foster stepped away from her, as if she was actually afraid of her. Somewhat disconcerted, she said, “I understand that, if you just returned from the gym, you would not want to hug anyone, but you don’t look like you’ve been to the gym… Are you sure there isn’t another reason for your reluctance? If I did something to offend you, I am sorry…”
Vana nervously glanced over at Caldwell as if to ask for help. She knew that as long as she played the part of the ‘oh so meek and mild’, she would look good and Aurora would look bad. She forced her cheeks to turn red and, as she turned back to Aurora, she forced a single tear out of her left eye; a trick she’d learned from the old Johnny Depp movie, Cry Baby.
Aurora was no fool though, and she saw rig……
