In this chapter, the forest forces a decision when Amihan is nearly taken by Liraya. To stop this, Silawán claims Amihan under his protection, binding her to his domain in the in-between realm. This saves her, but also places her under his authority, which complicates everything.
Because of this act, Maharlika arrives, someone deeply tied to Silawán's past. Her presence signals that his choice has consequences, and that the conflict over Amihan is no longer just about survival, but about power, history, and desire.
This happens because Amihan's "wanting" is growing stronger, and the forest is reacting to it, drawing powerful beings to claim or control her.
