I opened my eyes, I found myself staring up at the red velvet canopy over my large four poster bed again. It was going to take me a while to get used to living in such plush surroundings. Stretching, I rolled over on to my side, it suddenly donned on me that I didn’t know what time it was. I assumed I had not slept in, as Flora had promised she would bring me breakfast in plenty of time to meet Blane.
Thinking of Blane, made my conversation with Cassiena come flooding back to me. Last night had been a lot. I had cried myself to sleep after Archie had silently and grumpily, walked me back to my chambers. I made a mental note to work on getting him to like me.
Cassiena had told me about how she blamed herself for my father’s death. He had been happy, married to my mom, living a bor……
