I spun round, clinging to Dylan’s torso like I was about to be washed out to sea and he was my lifeline. As soon as I saw this poor girl’s face, I recognised her instantly. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew a lot about her, but at the same time I had no recollection of meeting her, only seeing a photograph. How is that even possible? Is Max right about being injected by the drugs could be messing with my brain function somehow? And now, the tattoo…it was like the world loved to taunt me right now, because I didn’t have a clue what having this tattoo meant. Only that someone with the tattoo is dead and I am alive. Why was I any different to her? How had I escaped that fate?
