“Thank you Miss Katherine. By the way, the Lord is returning home with the Lady. They are about to arrive any time now.”
“Thank you for the tip,” said Katherine and hung up.
She was staring blankly at the bright screen in front of her. With one click of the mouse, two million dollars were wired to Anne’s account. Once that was done, she shut the laptop and gazed at the cup on the table. Her hand reached out for it.
By receiving a bullet for Charles’s sake, Bella had postponed her inevitable departure and it was now up to Katherine to speed up the process or else she would be the one that would have to leave.
She brought the cup to her lips and drank its ice cold contents. Within a few minutes, her face was pale as paper her body was shaking.
