Ragar looked up at the sky, watching the lightning hovering and waiting for it to come down on him. He had his doubts but he wouldn’t let it control him, not now when he’s already in the middle. He’s ready for what the gods would deem him to be. Blessed or unblessed, he would accept it, and if ever he faces the same fate like Esmeralda’s, he would just wish that it is within the gods will. Closing his eyes, he raised his head, praying silently.
Then, the first strike came.
The lightning made him still, his breathing hitching as the pain reverberated on his body. The intensity of the electric shock left him momentarily paralyzed, his muscles tense and his heart pounding in his chest.
