"Bong" in Khmer Language is a prefix adding before a name. It is used when a younger person address an older person (not too old. Perhaps around 10 years different or so). It applies to both women and men. To make it easier to understand, it is like a Korean word "Oppa". It is a term of respect. However, unlike Oppa that can only applies to men, Bong can apply to any gender. Hope this will help :)
