~Isabella POV~
Victor and I had a very steamy first night as husband and wife and, though that was not a surprise given how attractive and confident he was. What I was taken aback by was how gentle Victor seemed. That was astonishing given his reputation and being the head of the ruthless Bernardi mafia family.
He had just prepared a warm bath for me and as I sat in the tub looking up at him, I could not help but feel a little hopeful about the possibilities of actually making this marriage work. Possibly succeeding where our predecessors failed, and bringing true peace to the Rossi and Bernardi family feud.
As I sat in the tub looking up at him, I uttered the words I never thought I would, "Can you join me?"
He smiled and said, “Sure.”
