Ethan was speechless.
He would have loved to have taken Cosette home as his girlfriend, but he knew that he and Cosette were only friends and it was in this capacity that he had invited her to his home.
He wanted to keep his friendship with Cosette and would have never have compromised it by embarrassing her in such a manner.
Since Cosette and Edward both loved each other, Ethan knew that he stood no chance. Edward was too strong an opponent and Ethan had to admit defeat.
"I'm sorry. I'm busy today, but I will come to visit your mom with you one day," Cosette told him.
Ethan nodded and greeted the crowd before leaving.
Jasmine was curious. As soon as Ethan left, she ran over, "Wow, Cosette, what was Ethan saying to you?"
