“I get it,” Peter replied without hesitation.
“Okay, good. Now I have something I need to discuss with Anna. You can go.”
Peter glanced at Anna. He was worried about her but also clear that if Edward had plans for Anna, there was nothing he could do for her.
Peter walked out and closed the door.
Anna felt a little hot under the collar? Had she done something wrong? She had worked hard for many years to build her career and had finally made good progress.
She was also a bright woman and had already picked up from observing both Earl and Edward that Cosette must have a connection with Edward.
