Rose was at her office early the next morning. She was primed to get some dates lined up after her conversation with Cade the night before. Awareness had thrummed through her the whole time he was in her house, but she powered through it. She was determined to find him a wife.
Her front door opened up and she assumed it was Brandy coming in for the day. “Hey, there."
She didn't receive an answer but thought nothing of it. Heavy footsteps stopped outside her office. She looked up assuming it was Cade. They didn't have an appointment, but who else would be on her doorstep. She didn't recognize the man. Her heart stuttered a little bit as he had a wild-eyed look on his face.
“Are you Rose Green?"
She rose from her desk. Better to be on her feet though he stood between her and the door. If she wer……
