“You'll have to direct me to where you live."
Rose had wondered why Cade was staring at her. She hadn't thought about the fact that he had no idea where she and Keegan lived. “Oh, right."
She gave him the address and he started the truck. “That isn't too far, but it would have been quite a walk."
“I wasn't looking forward to it, Cade."
“Mommy, can we stop for food?"
“I have food at home, Keegan."
He kicked her seat from behind. “I'm hungry."
“Keegan," Cade said in what Rose could only describe as a “dad" voice. “Listen to your mother."
Rose blinked. No one had ever stood up for her like that. Not even her ex-husband. He'd been just as much a child as Keegan.
“Okay," Keegan said.
“Thanks," Rose mouthed to Cade.
“Parental respect is the most important thing we can teach kids. Even if there are limits."……
