Orange skies greeted me as I opened my eyes. Another dream, I thought as I hauled myself to my feet. The aches and pains that throbbed all over my body were gone; only a fleeting sense of lethargy remained. The Angel’s sword lay dull and gray at my feet. I picked it up, and the subtle glow of the blade told me that my touch had awakened it once more. I took the strap and slung the weapon over my shoulders.
The entire summit of the third mountain was so silent that I almost forgot that I was in the Minotaur’s lair. It’s dead. I killed it, I reminded myself as I looked around. There was no decaying corpse nor even a single drop of blood to indicate that the demon ever existed.
You need to make haste, Sh’muel. A life needs saving, the Archangel’s words echoed inside……
