Chapter 7: The Dead Show

Tank spends most of this chapter up a pine tree he can't climb, throwing pine cones at something that could kill him. When Nate starts saying he thinks he's going on ahead, Tank tells him to save the chair and not make a speech out of it. Somebody offers to carry last words for the people he loves, and what he gets back is beef and potatoes and an argument about okra. It's a goodbye scene that refuses to be one, and I like it better for that.
