Concerned

***Magnus's POV***

My thoughts were scrambled. 

I was thinking of giving her time, to pull off the whatever pseudo-pregnancy, to get settled in here, to figure out whatever she's going to do next with her life, get to know her, try to have her get to know me better, and hope for the best.

And then, a bright light lit up the entire village. 

It was coming from the Altar. 

KAYLA!

I found Astrid and we rushed in the direction of the bright light. 

An ear piercing scream.

I felt like my world stopped. 

I ran just in time to hear the painful plea for help that was ripping through Kayla's lungs.

"NO!" Her pain shot me in my very core, making me feel so useless. 

And in a moment, everything was gone.

She was no longer here.
