Isla has become the leader of the children by default since she is the oldest. If my math is correct, which means it could easily be wrong, their ages are: Isla, 11-12; Willa, 8-9; and Brooke, Darcy, Miranda, Addison, and Dylan, all 5, share a birthday. That means Isla is old enough to understand what is happeneing and she is smart enough to get everyone working together to get them out of the mess they are in.
